School is out, the weather is warm, and summer has officially started. As you prepare for your next vacation, here are a few reminders from your Credit Union on how to keep access to your Credit Union account seamless and convenient.

Let Us Know When You Hit the Road

Summer is here and adventure is on the horizon. Don’t let your travels be interrupted along the way. Our top priority is making sure access to your Credit Union account remains safe and convenient, so be sure to inform us when you plan to be out of town. Though travel notices aren’t required, we highly recommend them. We continuously monitor your accounts for unusual or suspicious activities and transactions made outside of your typical home area may cause your credit or debit card to be declined.

Don’t let a blocked card transaction put a damper on your summer fun. To update your account with your travel plans, simply send us a Secure Message inside of Digital Banking or call our contact center at 205-226-6800.

To send a Secure Message:

  • Log into online or mobile banking
  • Choose the envelope icon at the top
  • Select ‘Compose New’
  • Select ‘General Inquiry’ and choose your Checking Account or Visa® Rewards Credit Card
  • In the notes field, include your travel dates and destinations. Simple as that!

Enhanced Control with CardManager

The ability to safeguard your finances gives you peace of mind. With Digital Banking and CardManager, you can actively manage your credit and debit cards by defining when, where and how your cards are used – wherever you are, all right from your phone.

CardManager sends real-time alerts for transactions enabling you to manage, track and report specific types of transactions You can customize your experience by setting alerts and controls for:

  • Locations
  • Merchants
  • Spending thresholds

If your card is lost, stolen, or you simply suspect suspicious activity, you can turn your card off with one click. To access this feature, download the CardManager app in your preferred app store. Once downloaded, log into your Credit Union’s Mobile Banking app and select Card Manager from Menu. From there, you can add your Credit Union debit and credit cards for management.

Enjoy Contactless Payment with Your Credit Union!

Your APCO Visa® Rewards Credit Card is compatible with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay. All three platforms use contactless payment without the need to present your credit card. By not having your card account number shared with merchants, you can worry less!

Apple Pay transactions using Apple devices are authorized with TouchID™ security or your passcode, and transactions never use your card number. Click here to learn about finding merchants accepting Apple Pay.

HOW TO SET UP APPLE PAY

Credit cardholders with an eligible Samsung device with the Samsung Wallet app can make transactions with their device using Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay is accepted by most merchants.

Last But Not Least – Don’t Forget About Your Account Access with the CO-OP Shared Network

As a Credit Union member, you’re provided access to your accounts through the CO-OP Shared Network. That means you have access to more than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs and 5,600 Shared Branches throughout the country where you can make deposits, withdrawals, and even transfer funds.
