About the APCO Employees Credit Union Share the Care Foundation

Established in 2021, the APCO Employees Credit Union Share the Care Foundation partners with qualifying nonprofits and organizations to help empower the agents of change working to strengthen our communities at large by addressing the needs of the individuals within them.

“The Foundation is proud to invest in organizations that are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals in our local communities,” explains Derrick Ragland, Jr., President, and CEO of APCO Employees Credit Union. Ragland also shared why establishing the APCO Employees Credit Union Share the Care Foundation in 2021 was so important to the Credit Union’s leadership and employees. “The Foundation allows us to fundraise and donate on a scale that will create a greater and lasting positive impact, beyond what we are able to do as a credit union.”

APCO Employees Credit Union began its mission to give back 20 years ago with the APCO Employees Credit Union for Kids Charity Golf Tournament. Since that time, we’ve been fortunate to donate more than $400,000 to Children’s of Alabama. By establishing the APCO Employees Credit Union Share the Care Foundation in 2021, we’ve been able to expand our giving to include additional community organizations. In 2023, our Foundation supported three community organizations, with a total donation of $85,000. Read more about that donation here.

Learn More About The Foundation’s Events

Annual Charity Golf Tournament
For 19 years, we’ve hosted an annual charity golf tournament. Our 20th Annual APCO Employees Credit Union Share the Care Foundation Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. This longstanding event is our largest fundraiser for the Foundation and helps ensure we’re able to make a lasting impact with our 2024 Foundation donation.
